Give your old car seat a new purpose
Baby Bunting is dedicated to enhancing the sustainability of our operations and we are excited to be trialing a car seat recycling program! Our 12-month trial ends in August 2025 and our goal is to recycle 2,400 car seats, preventing approx. 12 tonnes of expired or damaged child car seat material from ending up in landfill.
We need your help
We're asking for your help to reduce this wastage and create a greener future together by recycling your seat with us.
Recycle and repurpose
Recycled car seats are processed into materials that are then repurposed to create a range of products, including playground equipment and garden pots.
If not purchasing a car seat with us, we kindly ask customers to contribute $25 per seat to help cover the recycling costs. Baby Bunting will contribute this amount and more.
The car seat recycling trial is currently available at 8 of our Victorian stores:
- Bentleigh
- Burnside
- Chirnside Park
- Cranbourne
- Frankston
- Hawthorn
- Maribyrnong
- Thomastown
The trial will run for the period of around 12 months, or once we reach our trial target of 2,400 seats recycled.
How it works
Step 1
Visit any of our eight trial stores and inform one of our friendly team members that you have a car seat(s) for recycling.
